Effective 6/25/2020: In accordance with seacoast beach reopening guidance, the CPA Parking Lot, commonly referred to as the South Lot, will be closed for parking after 8 PM. Vehicles will be ticketed after 9 PM. Additionally, the Hampton Beach State Park will close at 9 PM. Thank you for your cooperation.

NH State Park seacoast sand beaches, bathrooms and parking are open as of June 1, 2020 With Restrictions

This includes Hampton Beach State Park (Seashell, South Beach and North Beach), North Hampton State Beach, Jenness State Beach and Wallis Sand State Park.

Sunbathing and other traditional beach activities may resume on seacoast beaches, effective June 5, 2020. Beachgoers must still remain 6 feet from other groups.
Those heading to our seacoast beaches should note that current parking restrictions will remain in effect.

Parking at Hampton Beach

All NH State Park lots will provide parking at 50 percent capacity at metered parking areas. Advanced day use parking will be available starting June 5 at Hampton South Beach.

Sections of Ocean Blvd. are restricted to pedestrian traffic only.
Dropping off of passengers and items in parking areas is not permitted and is subject to a fine.

Activities and Amenities

Camping

Hampton Beach State Park provides year-round recreation, with Atlantic ocean-front facilities situated along miles of sandy beach. Activities in the park include swimming, fishing, picnicking, and RV camping with full hook-ups in the campground.



Visiting With Your Pet

Pets are not allowed on the beach from May 1 to September 30. Pets are allowed on the beach from October 1 to April 30. Animals must be on a standard or rectractable leash not greater than 6 feet in length. Animal owners shall clean up any waste eliminated by their animals and place it in a trash can or remove it off-site. See our Visiting With Pets webpage for more information.

Operating Schedule

Please Note: Dates and times are weather dependent and subject to change without notice. For up to date hours, please call the park directly. This park is always open for recreation unless otherwise posted. During off hours and the off-season the park is typically not staffed, comfort stations are not available and gates may be closed.

Bathhouses will operate at 50 percent capacity. Please wear a facemask when using the bathhouses and when aroind large groups of people.

The off-season poses unique risks inherent when participating in outdoor recreational activities. Please be aware that many State Park areas and trails are not staffed during the off-season, and day-use fees are not collected. Recreationists should possess the necessary knowledge, skill, and equipment to ensure their own safety. Users assume all risk while recreating in State Park lands.

Fees

Parking fee is $15 per passenger vehicle for the parking area at South Beach. NH residents age 65 and over are admitted free. Season passes are available.

RVing at Hampton Beach State Park

The only RV park directly on the New Hampshire coast at the mouth of the Hampton River. The park is located south of the main part of Hampton Beach on Route 1A at the Seabrook-Hampton town line. Route 1A can be easily reached from I-95 by either Route 101 or 286. The campground, with 28 sites, is open for reservations from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend. A park store is located in the day-use area. Restaurants, entertainment, and other services are offered along Rt. 1A, just a short walk north. The park is close to many area attractions, including whale watching, saltwater fishing charter boats, sandy beaches, and swimming.

Discover the Power of Parks Programming

Interpretive, nature-based programs will be offered at Seacoast State Parks all summer long as part of the Discover Power of Parks. Programs will be presented by our SCA Interpretive Rangers in the park each week. Check out the seacoast program schedule for more information. All programs are free with paid park admission. No pre-registration is required.

Are pets allowed at Hampton Beach State Park?

Pets are only permitted in the park from October 1 through April 30 only. All other times pets are not permitted.  See the NH State Parks Pets Policy for more information.

Through the Carry-In/Carry-Out Program, you can help us keep your parks clean and beautiful by carrying out whatever you carry in. Thank you for your cooperation and remember to recycle.
