Advanced Day-Use Reservations are now Required

Mt. Washington State Park Visitor Center to open by reservation only starting July 18

To protect our visitors and Staff, we will open the Mt. Washington summit Sherman Adams Visitor Center by reservation only starting July 18. Reservations for entry into the Sherman Adams Building will be required of all guests; regardless if they arrived by the train, road, or hiking trails. Visitors to the State Park can still access the summit grounds and observation deck without a reservation.
To keep the building open is going to require the support of our partners and our visitors.  We want to be open and available to our guests but need to do so safely (masks will be required of guests and staff.) Reservations will be broken out into one-hour blocks, starting at 8:45 am with the last reservations from 5:45pm-6:45pm. Food service may be limited to packaged foods on certain days.  Indoor seating is available, but limited.
The Retail Shop and Food Service will be one way traffic only, credit cards are encouraged. (Visa, MasterCard, Discover).
While an entry fee will not be charged by NH Parks, there will be a non-refundable $1 transaction fee for each reservation. Portable toilets will be available outside the visitor center for those without reservations. A water filling station is available outside for hikers.

NH State Parks is now using a day-use reservation system at several locations (listed below).
Visitors are now able to purchase a day-use parking pass before visiting to ensure a parking space when arriving at the park.
Reservations can be made for day using the links below or through the Reserve America call center at 1-877-647-2757. Also, anyone looking to change the dates of their reservations must use the call center 1-877-647-2757.
Cencellations must be made by 9 a.m. the day of your visit.

Q: How do I cancel my reservation?

A: You can cancel your reservation on your own when you are logged into your account. Click on the “My Reservations & Account” tab. There is a section under “Reservations” labeled “Current Reservations.” Click on that link and it will bring you to all of the reservations that you have booked that are still upcoming. Select the reservation you would like to cancel and indicate you want to cancel that reservation. If you cancel before 9 a.m., you will receive a refund of the admission fee. A $1 non-refundable transaction fee will not be credited back to you. Your spot will now be able to be booked by other people.

Parks License Plates, Season Passes and Discounts

Visitors with pre-paid or discounted access to NH State Parks are encouraged to make online reservations as well. When making a reservation you can indicate that you are a pass/parks plate holder and you will not be charged the day-use/parking fee. However there will still be a $1 transaction fee for using the online reservation system.

Pre-paid and discounted access includes: the State Park License Plate, Seasons Passes, New Hampshire Seniors, New Hampshire Seniors, New Hampshire National Guard, New Hampshire Disabled Veterans, and Active Military.

In the case that those with pre-paid or discounted access choose not to purchase a day use pass or parking pass reservation, we will be setting aside a limited number of parking spaces for pre-paid and discounted access based upon historical use. This does not guarantee space will be availbe when you arrive ar the park.

Attention Echo Lake visitors: There are two Echo lakes in the park system. Make sure you are selecting the correct location. Make sure your GPS is taking you to the correct location.
