About the Park
Nansen Wayside Park is located near the banks of the Androscoggin River and is a popular place for picnicking, fishing, and boating. A boat launch is available. The park spans 14 acres and is the site of the 170-foot steel-framed Nansen Ski Jump, seen towering over the are
Nansen Ski Jump was built in 1936 and it was the largest ski jump in North America. In 1938, the first Olympic trials were held at the Nansen Ski Jump and hosted the United States Ski Jumping National Championships in 1940, ‘57, ‘65, ‘72.
