Park Operating Schedules

This park is always open for recreation unless closed or restricted by posting.

Off season use: During off hours and the off-season the park is typically not staffed, comfort stations are not available and gates may be closed. The off-season poses unique risks inherent when participating in outdoor recreational activities. Recreationists should possess the necessary knowledge, skill, and equipment to ensure their own safety. Users assume all risk while recreating in State Park lands.

About the Park

Umbagog Lake State Park, is one of the more recently acquired parks in the state system. The Division began managing the park in 1998. The park includes a base park campground with 27 sites with electrical and water hook-ups available, 2 cabins, 33 remote campsites and 4 remote cabins in isolated locations around Umbagog Lake accessible only by boat.

The park offers a beach area for swimming, excellent fishing, wildlife viewing, and boating. Canoe and kayak, rentals are offered, as well as transportation for remote site campers. A boat launch and fuel sales are available, as well as a park store. Wildlife viewing includes a variety of birds, deer, and moose.

All outside firewood is prohibited at Umbagog Lake State Park. Firewood must be purchased at the park store.

This campground offers 63 sites with tent and 2-way hookup sites, remote sites and cabins (3 cabins at base area and 4 remote cabins). Park is great for wildlife viewing. This is a pet-friendly campground.

Ellis Camps

Cabin Rental Options:


Ellis Cabin – Max 6 people, full size bunk bed, full size futon, rollaway bed, porch, solar power, heat, pots/pans, utensils, gas stovetop, fire pit, and picnic table. $80/night for 2 adults and up to 4 dependent children, $10 for each additional adult/night and $5 for each additional child/night.

Ben’s Cabin – Max 4 people, full size futon, rollaway bed, porch, solar power, heat, pots/pans, utensils, gas stovetop, fire pit, and picnic table. $65/night for 2 adults and up to 2 dependent children, $10 for each additional adult/night and $5 for each additional child/night.

Jenny’s Cabin – Max 4 people, full size futon, rollaway bed, porch, solar power, pots/pans, utensils, gas stovetop, fire pit, and picnic table. $65/night for 2 adults and up to 2 dependent children, $10 for each additional adult/night and $5 for each additional child/night.

Honeymoon Cabin - Max of 4 people of which 3 can be adults, full size futon, rollaway bed, porch, solar power, pots/pans, utensils, gas stovetop, fire pit, and picnic table. $65/night for 2 adults and up to 2 dependent children, $10 for each additional adult/night and $5 for each additional child/night.

Restrictions – Reservations must be made for Monday through Thursday night or Friday night through Sunday night. A combination of the two stays is permitted. Dogs are not allowed at the cabins.

Cabins: Weekly reservations are from Saturday to Saturday; check with the campground office for walk-in options. The fee covers two adults and up to four children.
 

Youth Group Camping

Let NH State Parks set the stage for your group’s next adventure.
Youth Group reservations for Greenfield, Moose Brook, Monadnock HQ, Pawtuckaway and Pillsbury State Parks can be made through ReserveAmerica by calling 1-877-647-2757. All other youth group reservations are made by calling Concord Headquarters at 603-271-3556 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
A $25 deposit will be required upon reservation, all additional fees will be collected at the park upon check-in. All Camping policy rules apply to youth group camping. Youth Groups camping at remote sites, Umbagog, or Dry River must pay in full prior to arrival.

Discover the Power of Parks Programming

Interpretive, nature-based programs will be offered at Umbagog Lake State Park all summer long as part of the Discover Power of Parks. Programs will be presented by our SCA Interpretive Rangers in the park each week. Check out the Umbagog Lake program schedule for more information. All programs are free with paid park admission. No pre-registration is required.
 

Are pets allowed at Umbagog Lake State Park?

Leashed pets are permitted in the base campground area but at not permitted in cabins at Ellis Camps. Pets are prohibited in the beach-front day use area,  and remote campsites in the Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge (campsites R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R9, R10, R13, R14, R15, R16, R18, R21, R22, R23, R28, R29, R30 and R32).
