CONWAY BRANCH RECREATIONAL RAIL TRAIL


In January 2025 the Final Report of the HB1468 Planning Group was issued which recommended that the highest and best use of the state-owned Conway Branch Railroad corridor was recreational use and that the corridor would be best managed by the Division of Parks and Recreation. On April 9th, 2025, the Governor and Executive Council approved the transfer of the Conway Branch from the Bureau of Rail & Transit to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (See Item #27).
The Conway Branch Rail Trail Advisory Committee has been established to provide advice to the agency on the future management of the rail trail, HERE.
