Limitless Adventure at Pillsbury State Park
What’s up, everybody? I’m Ian, and this is Limitless Adventure.
We set up camp at a remote site here at Pillsbury State Park. Today, we’re going to do some biking and hiking, but the main highlight is paddling around some of the many ponds here.
We’re paddling around Butterfield Pond—it’s the biggest pond in the park. There are some beautiful islands and rocks sticking out, great for exploring. It’s really a unique setting here.
I love this narrow channel at the end of Butterfield Pond, joined by pine trees on either side. You know, this whole park so far has this really quiet, serene atmosphere—super peaceful.
We want to check out one more pond, so we transported the gear up to Mill Pond. Let’s see what this one has to offer.
Mill Pond is a little bit smaller, but it’s got these great coves you can paddle around to explore the coastline while looking for wildlife.
Time to switch gears—drop the boat off and head out for a bike ride. We’re riding out on Mad Road Trail to do a couple miles on the bike. It’s one of the best trails in the park for riding.
We had one good climb, but for the most part, this trail has been all cruising downhill. We just reached the end of Mad Road Trail, right where it meets up with Route 31. After a bit of doubling back on the trail, we’re going to ride the main road back to the campsite.
We made it back to the campground, and the sun came out! Now we’re going to do a little exploring on foot and hike out to Bear Pond.
We made it up to Bear Pond—a quick little one-mile hike. Great spot tucked away back here. It’s getting late in the day, and we still have to paddle back to our remote site, so let’s get moving.
Good girl! I’ve had such an awesome day of adventure here at Pillsbury. And you know, as much as I love the fun and activities, what I really look forward to is kicking back and relaxing at our remote campsite.
Until next time, I’m Ian, and this is Limitless Adventure.
