Jenness State Beach Bathhouse Ribbon Cutting Celebration

NH Parks and Recreation will host a ribbon cutting celebration for the new bathhouse at Jenness State Beach at 2280 Ocean Blvd, Rye, NH at 1:30 p.m. on June 14.

The new bathhouse design at Jenness State Beach is similar to the style of the facilities at Hampton Beach State Park and North Hampton State Beach and is located in approximately the same location as the previous bathhouse built in 1980. The new bathhouse includes increased onsite amenities and features exterior changing rooms, rinse off shower and a family bathroom.

Facility upgrades like the Jenness State Beach bathhouse project expands the overall visitor experience and provides effective opportunities to increase the outdoor recreational value for the citizens of New Hampshire and our parks visitors.

“This is a great example of how strategic investments from the capital budget complement our operationally self-funded park system. Improving our facilities enhances visitor experiences which directly correlate to the success of our outdoor recreation economy,” said Sarah Stewart, commissioner NH Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. “We couldn’t accomplish this without the support of our Legislature, Governor and the Executive Council.”

Jenness Beach state Park is one of five NH State Park beaches along the New Hampshire seacoast, which includes Hampton Beach State Park, North Beach, North Hampton State Beach and Wallis Sands State Park.

Jenness State Beach is a great family location with an Atlantic Ocean-front setting, ideal for swimming and picnicking. Jenness State Beach is open full-time for the season and closes October 31. Metered parking hours are from 8:00 am to midnight. The new Bathhouse is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day until Labor Day. Lifeguards are on duty from May 25 through August 28, from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
