Cardigan Mountain State Park - Road Closures and Access

07/15/2019

NH Homeland Security and Emergency Management - along with Department of Transportation and Department of Natural & Cultural Resource officials - would like to inform the public that Orange Road in Orange near Cardigan Mountain State Park is closed except to local traffic due to heavy damage sustained during Thursday evening’s storm.

The closure means there is no access to Cardigan Mountain or the hiking trails from Orange
Road until further notice. For the public’s safety, the road is closed until repairs can be
completed.

Cardigan Mountain State Park remains open, but please be advised that anyone seeking public
access to the mountain or the hiking trails should seek alternate access via Burnt Hill Road.
DOT officials will work as quickly as possible to restore Orange Road to through traffic.

For further information, or updates on the condition of the road, go to newengland511.org or nhstateparks.org/visit/state-parks/cardigan-mountain-state-park.aspx.
