Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway Activities and Amenities The Aerial Tramway is open for the 2021 Summer Season! Reservations are required, click here to purchase or see link below. The first passenger aerial tramway in North America began operation on this site in 1938. Almost seven million passengers were carried to the top by the first tram. Take a scenic eight minute ride in one of two enclosed cable cars to the 4,080 foot summit of Cannon Mountain and enjoy panoramic views of the distant valleys and mountains. Each tram car has a maximum capacity of 80 persons and ascends 2,180 feet vertically. Walking trails to a summit observation tower leave from the tram station. In the winter, Cannon Mountain is a favorite among skiers, with 97 trails and slopes for all abilities. Cannon is the home of the New England Ski Museum which is located near the base of the tramway. The aerial tramway is one of New Hampshire's most spectacular rides. The tramway brings visitors to the 4,080' summit of Cannon Mountain in approximately eight minutes. On a clear day, visitors will enjoy views of the mountains of New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Canada, and New York. At the summit there are walking paths, an observation deck, cafeteria, and restrooms. Make a Reservation Book your trip to Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway: Visitors should make a reservation before arriving at the park. Tickets can either be printed at home or displayed on a mobile device for scanning. Visitors who do not have a reservation when the Tram is sold out will be turned away. Please plan ahead as the the Aerial Tramway frequently sells out, especially on weekends. Aerial Tramway Reservations Guests are required to wear face coverings inside the Tram and maintain 6 ft. social distance when possible. Reservations are non-refundable. We do not issue refunds based on the weather. Please come prepared for rain or shine. There is a $1.50 non-refundable online transaction fee. Schedule and Ticket Rates The Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway will open for the season on May 28. Operating hours are 9 am to 5 pm daily. *Dates and times are weather permitting. Ticket Rates Schedule Ages 13+ round-trip ride: $25 Children ages 6-12 round-trip ride: $20 Children ages 5 & under: Free w/ adult Open May 28 - October 17 (subject to change) Daily: 9am - 5pm (First Tram of the day is at 9am) One-Way tickets will NOT be available this summer at either the base or summit buildings. Are pets allowed at Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway? Pets are not permitted in the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway. Pets are only permitted in Franconia Notch State Park in the designated dog walks in the Flume & Tramway parking lots. Pets are prohibited from Echo Lake Beach, Lafayette Campground, on the Tram and in the Flume Gorge. See the NH State Parks Pets Policy for more information.
