Ellacoya Programs

2019 Discover the Power of Parks nature programs have begun! Interpretive rangers, Simone Maule and Matthew Pyster have planned informative and fun programs for you to take advantage of while visiting Ellacoya State Park. All programs are free with paid park admission. No pre-registration is required.

Water Wildlife Olympics
Think you have what it takes to win the Ellacoya Water Olympics? Evaporation, condensation, and precipitation: can you win all three challenges?

Recycle Right
For the kids - fun and games! For the adults - bring all of your trash and recycling as we help you sort it into the correct bins.

Tree Detectives
After this short walk around the park, not only will you be able to ID local trees, you will see the forest in a whole new way!

Sandcastle Limnology
Come build a sandcastle, then discover how to keep your empires water clean. You can even tell your parents its educational!

Saga of the Stars
Come hear stories, myths, and science surrounding the starry sky. Bring a blanket or towel to lay on the ground!

Animal Adaptations
Get up close and hands-on with animal pelts, and learn how New Hampshire’s native animals have adapted to survive!

Campfire Stories
Come gather around the campfire for local tall tales and ghost stories. Bring your own stories to share as well!

Water Quality Fun
Calling all scientists! Learn about lake and stream health and test your knowledge on Lake Winnipesaukee!

Creatures of the deep
There is a whole world of living things under the surface of the water. Let’s use some nets and explore this wet wonderland!
