Greenfield Programs

Our 2019 Discover the Power of Parks nature programs have begun! Interpretive ranger, Xandri Clifton has planned informative and fun programs for you to take advantage of while visiting Greenfield State Park.

All programs are free with paid park admission. No pre-registration is required.

Program Descriptions

Tree ID Spree
Learn about the giants of Greenfield, how to make your own identification book, and—if you’re up to the challenge—attempt the scavenger hunt that will take you all through Greenfield’s trees

Wildlife Welcome Station
Come see what wildlife and nature you might encounter in the woods, and what fun programs Ranger Xandri has planned for the weekend!

Beach Cloud Watching
Join Ranger Xandri at the beach for some relaxing cloud watching, weather reading, and a fun craft! Clouds will be provided—hopefully.

Boggling Botanicals and Historical Hike
Hike with Ranger Xandri to learn about this ~15,000 year old (you read that right) landmark, and the unique plants that inhabit it. Please bring water and sturdy shoes. Will last approx. 1.5hr.

Moonlit Critters: Series
Are you afraid of the dark? Grab your flashlight and a sense of adventure for these programs! Each one will focus of the features of one of our nocturnal animals in the park and will have a short night hike.

Pondering Pondlife
Did you know that Dragonflies spend most of their life living underwater? Come to the beach with Ranger Xandri to explore and learn more about the animals living in Otter Lake

Wildlife Watercolors: Series
Come learn about some of the animals in the woods around you and paint your own souvenir with Ranger Xandri. Materials provided.

So Fur, So Good
Did you know beavers have waterproof fur? Join Ranger Xandri to see and learn more about some of the fur-bearing animals of the park

Tracking on the Trail
You may not see all the animals that live in Greenfield, but you can certainly find signs of many of them. Join Ranger Xandri on a hike around Hogback Pond to see and learn about what clues animals leave us. Please bring water and sturdy shoes. Will last approx. 1.5hr.

Recycle Right
NH State parks recycles differently than other states—and differently from neighborhoods in NH. Bring your recyclables to the bins and help us keep our bins 100% recyclables, with help from Ranger Xandri
