About the Park
Northwood Meadows State Park spans 674.5 acres in a wilderness setting. This wooded park has a vast wetlands area and is excellent for nature walks and picnicking. The park includes a pond created by a dammed brook - a popular place for fishing and non-motorized boating. The easily accessible trails also make the park an ideal place for biking, hiking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.

Northwoods Meadows Dam Reconstruction Project
The lake has been drained so that necessary engineering work can be completed to finish the design of a new concrete spillway, along with a plan to rehabilitate the earthen portion of the dam. In 2018 the drain failed causing it to leak and slowly drain the lake. Work is slated to start in 2025, please click this link for additional information see project poster or visit NH State Parks - Northwood Meadows State Park Dam Project
Northwood Meadows Forest and Wildlife Management
Starting in October 2024 forest management will be starting in order to establish young forest growth, diversify habitats for wildlife, and promote ecosystem health. Saddleback Mountain Loop Trail will be closed and Old Mountain and Dashingdown Road will be shared with park users. We encourage park users to take alternative routes when able. Trucking will be limited to weekdays, however the log landing may be active at any time.
