About the Park
Northwood Meadows State Park spans 674.5 acres in a wilderness setting. This wooded park has a vast wetlands area and is excellent for nature walks and picnicking. The park includes a pond created by a dammed brook - a popular place for fishing and non-motorized boating. The easily accessible trails also make the park an ideal place for biking, hiking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.

Northwoods Meadows Dam Reconstruction Project
The lake has been drained so that necessary engineering work can be completed to finish the design of a new concrete spillway, along with a plan to rehabilitate the earthen portion of the dam. In 2018 the drain failed causing it to leak and slowly drain the lake. Work is slated to start in 2025, please click this link for additional information see project poster or visit NH State Parks - Northwood Meadows State Park Dam Project

Project Update – Forestry operations requiring the use of Dashingdown Road and temporary closure of the Saddleback Mtn. Loop Trail are now complete. Signs associated with the project have been removed, and Saddleback Mtn. Loop Trail is open for non-motorized use again. We will return with an excavator this summer to clear brush from sections of the Saddleback Mtn. Loop Trail where this material helped to protect soil and support equipment. We will also establish any necessary water control features (e.g., water bars, ditching) at that time. We appreciate your patience as we wait for the ground to thaw to do this work. For more information, please contact Connor Breton (project forester) at 603-227-8735.
