About the Park
Just a few miles northwest of downtown Berlin you will find one of the newest additions to the state park system. Jericho Mountain State Park provides opportunities for miles of trail riding for ATV, UTV, trail bike, and snowmobile enthusiasts alike. Throughout the park, visitors are treated to a number of scenic outlooks. Park guests can also enjoy swimming, fishing, canoeing and picnicking at Jericho Lake. The park also includes a 20 site ride-in/ride-out campground, cabins, a bathhouse and Visitors Center. The park is also home to the ever popular, Journey to Jericho ATV Jamboree.
Jericho Mountain State Park Improvement Project, 2024
Funding for the Campground Expansion Project was appropriated to the Division of Parks and Recreation to replace obsolete infrastructure, add new infrastructure, expand the number of campsites and supporting facilities (i.e. toilet buildings), to support existing visitors and meet the demand for camping experiences
The Division is proposing to do the following:
30% Set Design for Jericho State Park
- Add two new standard campsites and two new shelter campsites in the existing camping area.
- Develop a new camping area adjacent to the event area with a total of 18 new RV campsites with water, sewer and electric connections (13 back-in sites, 5 pull through sites).
See the map and rendering of the site design at Jericho Mountain State Park.
Jericho Mountain State Park 4x4 Off Road Trail
This is the first 4x4 Jeep/Truck trail, on public lands, in the Northeast! The trail is 2.5 miles long and is estimated to take 3.5-5 hours to complete. Vehicles enter through the main parking area at the Visitor Center on Jericho Lake Road. Cost is $20 per vehicle (up to 2 occupants) and $4 for each additional person. Vehicles are required to have a winch, modified tires and other modifications.
The North Woods Off Road Club (NWOR) built the trail, with State approvals, and is performing the trail maintenance. The trails are open to the public during the Visitors Center hours of operation. Drivers need to check in at the Visitor Center to get the gate opened. The gate will close at approximately 5pm during the summer, to allow vehicles to get out before the park closes at night.
We hold a Campsite Lottery for the annual "Journey to Jericho ATV Jamboree Weekend." This typically opens in September.
Campsite fees will be $25/night (no hook ups) , adirondack shelter is $29/night and cabin fees are $50/night. The campground is open for reservations from May 11 through November 1.
