When park is unstaffed during the season, please deposit payment in Iron Ranger (self-serve paystation). Checks can be made payable to Treasurer, State of NH. Season Passes are available

Park Operating Schedules

This park is always open for recreation unless closed or restricted by posting.

Off season use: During off hours and the off-season the park is typically not staffed, comfort stations are not available and gates may be closed. The off-season poses unique risks inherent when participating in outdoor recreational activities. Recreationists should possess the necessary knowledge, skill, and equipment to ensure their own safety. Users assume all risk while recreating in State Park lands.

About the Park

Ellacoya State Park is located in Gilford on the southwest shore of Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire's largest lake. The 600-foot long sandy beach, with views across the lake to the Sandwich and Ossipee mountains, is a great place to spend with the family for a full day of swimming and picnicking. The RV Campground includes 37 sites available by reservation only, and offers three-way hook-ups. View Campground Map

Day Use Reservations at Ellacoya State Park

Visitors can make a reservation before arriving at the park as parking is limited (especially on nice weekends and holidays). Walk-in spaces are available for visitors on a first come/first-serve basis. Reservations can be made up to 30 days prior to arrival.

RV Reservations at Ellacoya State Park

The RV Campground includes 37 sites available by reservation only, and offers three-way hook-ups. The campground is open for reservable stays from April 30 through Columbus Day weekend. The rate per a night is $60 per rig (water/electric/sewer hookups). Tents are not allowed at the RV park.

Maximum Stay Length Policy

There is a 14-day maximum per visit at all NH State Park campgrounds except at Hampton Beach and Ellacoya RV Parks, where no camping vehicle or person can stay longer than a cumulative 14 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Res 7302.03  Camping Permits.

(d)  Camping permits shall have a maximum duration of 14 consecutive days at all campgrounds unless extended pursuant to paragraph (e).  Hampton Beach and Ellacoya RV parks shall have a maximum duration of 14 consecutive or accumulative days from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend for any person or camping vehicle. Extensions of camping permits at Hampton Beach and Ellacoya RV parks shall not be permitted.

Are pets allowed at Ellacoya State Park?

Pets are not permitted in the park. See the NH State Parks Pets Policy for more information.

Youth Group Day Use

Youth and School Groups must call the park directly at least 2 weeks prior to arrival to make reservations before visiting. The Bus Pass Program is available for NH youth organizations that meet the program criteria (for more information and applications, please visit BUS PASS PROGRAM.)
 
 Groups that do not meet the qualification for the Bus Pass Program are eligible to receive a discounted rate. For More information, please visit our School & Youth Group Page.
