NH State Parks and 1DegreeOutside Launch Advanced Rip-Current Hazard Forecasting at Hampton Beach State Park

Hampton, NH (July 22, 2025) — The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation, part of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, has announced a new partnership with New England-based weather firm 1DegreeOutside to deliver more advanced rip current forecasting for Hampton Beach State Park. The collaboration represents a significant leap forward in public safety forecasting and visitor experience for New Hampshire's Seacoast.

Hampton Beach State Park Beach Patrol is now receiving location-specific rip-current intelligence, providing up to five-day lead time and beach-zone detail previously not available to NH State Parks. These insights translate science into clear, actionable alerts for lifeguards and beachgoers, to help Beach Patrol teams monitor conditions proactively to improve response and communication.
