Join NH Parks at Discover Wild NH Day

04/18/2019

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department hosts Discover Wild NH Day Saturday April 20, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of the Fish and Game Department at 11 Hazen Drive in Concord, N.H.

To kick off a summer of exploration and camping, NH State Parks will feature the return of the free make your own s’mores over an open campfire event. Last year 3,000 s’mores were toasted up and served.

Park staff will be available to answer questions about the 93 state parks and historical sites the state has to offer. The event is a good opportunity to learn about all the beaches, campgrounds, historic sites, waysides, natural areas, multitude of trails, and the wild places to explore.

Stop by the Park’s display and say Hello to Chumley the chipmunk. He is the NH State Parks Mascot and he has a new look. Chumley will be there to greet visitors and talk about all the wild adventures that await you this summer at NH Parks.

Discover Wild New Hampshire Day is a fun way for the whole family to explore New Hampshire’s wildlife resources and legacy of outdoor traditions. Browse educational exhibits presented by environmental and conservation organizations from throughout the state. See live animals, big fish and trained falcons. Try your hand at archery, casting, fly-tying and B-B gun shooting. Watch retriever dogs in action. Get creative with hands-on craft activities for the kids. Plus, check out the latest hunting and fishing gear and gadgets.
