Bureau of Park Operations

The Bureau of Park Operations oversees the management, operation and maintenance of the 75 State Park properties.  The properties include campgrounds, beaches, day-use facilities, waysides, and natural areas. The Retail Operations at the parks are overseen and managed by the Division of Parks and Recreation.

The state park system is divided up into management regions that have regional managers who are responsible for the day-to-day operations in parks.  The 3 regions and two management areas are; the Great North Woods Region, Central Region, South/Seacoast Region, Mount Washington State Park, and Franconia Notch State Park.

Also, under their realm is the Planning and Development Office which oversees projects around the state and does planning and permitting for projects. Current projects include the Hampton Beach Redevelopment, Gilson Pond Campground, and the Connecticut Lakes Headwaters Working Forest Recreation Program.
