Snowmobiling Continues While Gates Remain Closed

(Concord, NH) The NH Bureau of Trails announces with the predicted storm for tomorrow and continued cold weather it will extend the State’s snowmobile season by a few weeks. Riding currently exists in northern NH and at some higher elevations.  This forecast of 8-14” of heavy wet snow, combined with colder temperatures, will make riding better in those areas and reopen others.

The Bureau cautions riders that many gates in Southern NH were closed last week with the rain and warm weather. Some gates may reopen but riders need to operate with caution for conditions and be mindful that gates on most recreational rail trails have closed.  Riders can still use the recreational trail via the side pass on the gates but they need to pay attention and ride responsibly.

Riders should check local club site for local information and the Bureau of Trails website for twice-weekly trail condition updates through the end of March.
