How much does it cost to park at the parking meters?
Parking Meters are located along Route 1A and accept quarters and tokens only. If quarters are used, the rate is $1.50 per hour. Tokens cost $5 each for and are good for four hours.

Where can you buy tokens to use at the meters?
Tokens can be purchased at change machines at the following locations:

  • Parking lot south of the Hampton Seashell complex - south end and north end
  • Restroom on Ross Avenue
  • Restrooms at North Beach, Jenness Beach and North Hampton State Beach

What hours are parking regulations enforced?
Meter hours are in effect from 8:00 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week, from May 1st through October 1st.

What is the charge for a parking violation?
Tickets are issued for parking violations, with a charge of $15 if the ticket is paid within 30 days. If payment is not received within 30 days, the fine is increased to $25. If payment is not received within 45 days, the fine is increased to $35. If payment is not received within 60 days, the fine is increased to $50. Please note: An additional parking violation ticket will be issued for each overtime period at the meter and/or continued violation.

How should I pay my parking ticket?
Payment can be made with either cash or check, made payable to The State of New Hampshire. Use the envelope provided with the ticket or mail payment to the State of New Hampshire, Division of Parks and Recreation, State Park Patrol, P.O. Box 1856, Concord, NH 03302-1856. Payment can also be taken directly to the State Park Patrol Office (603-926-5000) at the Hampton Seashell Complex. For further information, call 603-271-3556.
