Pet Friendly State ParksThe New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation recognizes that your pet is an important part of your recreation experience. To serve the needs of all park visitors, there are some parks that allow pets, some parks that allow pets but only in designated areas, and some parks that do not allow pets. Pet Friendly State Parks Pets are permitted at the following state parks: Ahern State Park Pets are permitted on the hiking trails only. Androscoggin Wayside Park Annett Wayside Park Bear Brook State Park Pets are permitted in the campground and on the hiking trails only. Beaver Brook Falls Wayside Bedell Bridge State Park Cardigan State Park Chesterfield Gorge Natural Area Coleman State Park Connecticut Lakes Headwaters Working Forest Crawford Notch State Park Pets are permitted in the campground, hiking trails and dog walk area at the Willey House Site only. Deer Mountain Campground Dixville Notch State Park Echo Lake State Park Pets are permitted throughout the back trails in the Cathedral and White Horse areas only. Eisenhower Memorial Wayside Endicott Rock Historic Site Franconia Notch State Park Pets are permitted at the designated dog walk area and on hiking trails only. Pets are NOT allowed on ski trails, on the Flume Gorge Trail, the Recreation Path, Echo Lake Beach or on the Aerial Tramway. Forest Lake State Park Pets are permitted at the park except at beach. Gardner Memorial Wayside Park Greenfield State Park Pets are permitted at the campground and on hiking trails only. Hannah Duston Memorial Jericho Mountain State Park Pets are permitted at campground and trails only. Lake Francis State Park Madison Boulder Natural Area Milan Hill State Park Miller State Park Mollidgewock State Park Pets are permitted in the campground only. Moose Brook State Park Pets are permitted in the campground and on the hiking trails only. Mt. Sunapee State Park Pets are permitted in the campground and trails only. Pets are restricted from the beach area at all times. Pets are also restricted from the Arts and Crafts Festival and are not allowed at the ski area during winter ski operations. Mt. Washington State Park Pets are permitted on hiking trails only. Nansen Wayside Park Northwood Meadows State Park Pawtuckaway State Park Pets permitted on hiking trails through Reservation Road and Round Pond Road only. Pets are not permitted in the campground during the peak season (Memorial Day weekend – Columbus Day weekend) and are never permitted at the state beach. Pillsbury State Park Pisgah State Park Rhododendron State Park Pets are permitted in designated areas of the park. Rollins State Park Sculptured Rocks Natural Area Taylor Mill State Historic Site Umbagog Campground Pets are permitted at base camp and designated remote campsites only. Weeks State Park Wellington State Park Pets are permitted at the access area at the state boat launch and at hiker parking area and trails on the west side of West Shore Road only. Winslow State Park * If a park is not listed, it does not permit pets. Please note that some of the parks have exceptions.* Per Res 7301.08(b): Service animals, including animals used for detection and search and rescue training and operations, shall be exempt from all prohibitions in this section unless stated otherwise. To ensure a pleasurable and safe visit for both pets and park visitors, please take the time to familiarize yourself with the following rules: Pets are prohibited at all state beaches, picnic areas, and historic sites. In areas where pets are allowed, pets must be leashed and attended at all times; owners are responsible for their pets' actions. If a pet becomes objectionable to any park visitor, the owner will be asked to remove the pet from the park.
