Major construction at the campground is complete and the contractor has demobilized.  The sites look fantastic and as Reservations Supervisor Louise Basha remarked, “The Gilson Pond Campground will be a gem in the tiara of State Park Campgrounds.”  The visitor services’ building is being designed now and will be bidded out shortly.  Construction is expected to occur over the winter.  The new campground is tentatively scheduled to open in mid-July.
 

Please Note: The Gilson Pond Area of Monadnock State Park is closed to all public access until further notice due to construction. Recreational users (including hikers and cross country skiers) are advised to utilize Monadnock State Park Headquarters during this time. Unidentified construction hazards and unsigned relocation of roads and trails may be present which could create difficulties and safety concerns.
