Mount Sunapee Advisory Committee

The Mount Sunapee Advisory Committee was established through the Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED) Commissioner's Office pursuant to RSA 21-G:11, to advise the Commissioner and meet with the lessee at the call of the Commissioner. Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public pursuant to RSA 91-A:2 II; however, such meetings do not constitute public hearings.

Mount Sunapee Five-Year Master Development Plan (MDP) 2015-2019 and Environmental Management Plan (EMP), June 1, 2014

Hard copies of the Five-Year Master Development Plan 2015-2019 and Environmental Management Plan are available for public review at the Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED), 172 Pembroke Road, Concord, NH, as well as in the Towns of Newbury, Goshen, New London, Sunapee, Newport, Bradford, and at the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission. The plan has been broken down into smaller sections for easier download. These pdf files can be accessed below:

Revised Map of Lease Premises

The Department of Resources and Economic Development releases the revised “Map of Lease Premises” for the Mount Sunapee State Park ski area, based upon the Merrimack County Superior Court decision of July 8, 2014.  The Superior Court found that the western and northern leasehold boundaries are the same as the State Park boundaries.  The Department has filed this revised map with the Superior Court.

Addendum to 2004 report on Mt. Sunapee State Park

In November 2014, staff from the Natural Heritage Bureau (NHB) conducted preliminary assessments at Mt. Sunapee State Park (MSSP) and reevaluated the condition of the forest in portions of the West Bowl of Mt. Sunapee that was first surveyed in 2004. In addition, NHB was requested by Mount Sunapee Resort to gather information on land adjacent to MSSP. The following is an addendum to the 2004 NHB report.

Next Steps for Public Involvement:

Commissioner Rose will release his draft response on the Mount Sunapee Five-Year Master Development Plan and Environmental Management Plan 2015-2019, in time for the Mount Sunapee Resort to prepare its Annual Operating Plan for 2015-2016, which is due to DRED by May 15, 2015. The draft response will be posted on this webpage.
