Seacoast Parking Frequently Asked Questions

Why Pay & Display?

The parking pay systems have been converted from a Park and Pay to a Pay and Display system. This conversion is a result of issues with the machines communicating accurate information to the ticketing software. The meters will still accept cash, coins and credit/debit cards and will issue a receipt for payment. Visitors must place this receipt face up on their dashboard to avoid being ticketed.

What Are The Benefits To The Public?

There are many reasons why Pay & Display Meters are a good choice:
  • Convenience of credit card payments – no need for only coins.
  • Visitors can add time by going to any of the Pay & Display stations. The new receipt must be placed on your dashboard.
  • Visitors can use a valid ticket anywhere in the Pay & Display areas.

How do I use a Pay & Display Meter?

In a Pay & Display parking system, the visitor parks, walks to the pay station, reads the directions and hourly rates, pays for the parking time desired, and is issued a receipt. The visitor walks back to his/her car, places the receipt on the dashboard with the expiration time visible, and walks away. That's it.

When is Pay & Display system in Effect?

Pay & Display is in effect seven days a week, including holidays, from 8am to midnight beginning April 1st.

Can I Use Credit Cards?

Yes. All Pay & Display stations accept quarters, bills, and credit card payments.

Is There A Minimum Credit Card Purchase?

Yes. The minimum purchase is $2.00.

What If I Paid For More Time Than I Need?

Pay & Display stations do not give refunds.

How Will I Find The Pay & Display Station?

The pay stations will be located near beach entrances. Signs with directional arrows will be posted at each pay station.

Does It Cost More To Park at a Pay & Display Station?

No. Traditional parking meters and the Pay & Display system both charge the same parking fee.

What Happens If A Pay & Display Station Doesn’t Work?

You can purchase time from any unit.  Meters communicate with parking division employees if there is a problem. A malfunctioning coin or card slot will automatically close, preventing customers from paying if a receipt cannot be issued.

Is There A Size Limit to The Space?

Yes. Maximum vehicle length is 20 feet.

What if I Park and Don’t Pay?

Those who don’t pay will be ticketed by State Park Patrol. Ticket fines are as follows:
Expired Meter Violation $25.00
Late Fee Notice 1 – after 15 days $50.00
Late Fee Notice 2 – after 25 days $75.00
Late Fee Notice 3 – after 35 days $100.00
Handicap Parking Violation $250.00
Fire Hydrant Violation $50.00

What if I believe I received a ticket in error?

You can dispute your ticket by sending an email to disputes@dred.state.nh.us or mailing the dispute to Meter Disputes, P.O. Box 1856, Concord, NH 03302-1856. When sending please include citation number, name and address.
